If your Computer Has Been Taken Over By Spyware, Try Avira

I recently had the misfortune of getting a trojan from a friend's web site who was not aware that his server was infected. I was running Kaspersky at the time and the anti-virus software for some reason did not detect it.
The trojan began downloading spyware which began taking over my computer: completely disabling Kasperky and making programs very slow to open.
I tried scanning my computer with several anti-spyware programs, but they did not detect anything. Kaspersky would not re-install. After hours of searching, I ran into Avira Premium Security Suite and downloaded the free trial.
Not only was I able to install Avira on my infected computer, the program eliminated several viruses upon scanning my drives. I decided to continue using Avira since I, at that time, did not know where the virus had come from. After visiting my friend's web site a few months later and receiving the warning from Avira, I finally connected the dots.
A PC World review of Avira states that the "...high point was Avira's record at detecting spyware and adware, where it proved second to none." I have found this to be the case. So if you are pulling out your hair trying to figure out how to de-spyware your computer, give Avira a try.
